The 2013 Christmas ‘Gift List’ activity built on the previously very successful Christmas 2012 ‘Wish List’ campaign we developed for Curry’s and PC World.
This year, the theme centred around gifting, with entrants being able to create and personalise gift lists for themselves and their friends and family (who could be selected via a Facebook ‘friend picker’ tool), individual gift suggestions were driven by clever profiling questions answered at the start.
Consumers could create their Gift List and win presents for their friends and family every day, with every Gift List created being entered into a daily draw to win that list. The Gift List could be shared socially and via email to friends and family.
The core digital element was a multi-platform adaptive site, designed specifically to deliver a rich, interactive experience seamlessly across mobile devices, tablets or desktop browsers – so consumers can take part in the campaign wherever they see the promotion – at home, out of home and in-store.
The promotion ran a from October to December – the peak season – and was supported by; digital advertising, social media activity, national inserts, print advertising, and in store POS.
The results were significant – this year’s total entries were 3 times the previous year.
